Why am I both a therapist and a coach? The answer lies in the distinct roles that mental health therapy and coaching play in our journey to well-being.

Consider mental health therapy as akin to a surgeon's role when dealing with a tumor. You wouldn't go to your primary care physician for surgery; you'd seek out a specialist. Similarly, mental health therapy involves a deep dive into the root causes of your symptoms, much like a surgeon would address the root of the problem.

Coaching, on the other hand, is like the recovery phase after surgery. Once the root issue has been addressed, you're ready to move forward with your new self. However, just as you would seek out your primary care physician for post-surgery care, you might need some extra help navigating this new phase of your life. That's where coaching comes in.

As a licensed clinical social worker and empowerment coach, I offer both services. I understand the importance of addressing the root causes of our struggles, as well as the need for guidance and support as we navigate our path to recovery and self-improvement.
